Russia begins manufacturing of pipe blanks for Kundankulam N-plants

Chennai, Might 14: Russia’s built-in nuclear energy participant Rosatom on Friday mentioned its machine constructing division has began stamping pipe blanks for major circulation pumps to be fitted within the Items 5 and 6 of the atomic energy crops at Tamil Nadu’s Kudankulam.

The Rosatom mentioned the work was carried out in two phases – firstly the blanks via a press got the mandatory oval form. On the second stage, the bending of things was carried out.

After a two-stage holding in a furnace at a temperature of 870 to 1,080 levels, the bend was positioned in a specialised stamp. Below the strain of the press with a drive of 6,000 ton-forces, the clean was bent at 29 levels.
