Seth Rogen on why his Twitter beef with Ted Cruz is not a feud: ‘Feud implies equal floor’

Seth Rogen appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Thursday night time, the place the actor defined why his so-called feud with Senator Ted Cruz is “not a feud.”

Rogen is understood for being brazenly opinionated on Twitter and, again in January, he and Cruz had a days-long Twitter alternate, which all began on Inauguration Day, when Cruz criticized President Joe Biden for reentering the Paris Local weather Settlement.

On Thursday, host Stephen Colbert requested the actor to clarify why he’s calling his social media spar with Cruz “not a feud.”

“Feud implies equal floor,” Rogen defined. “If somebody’s attempting to homicide somebody with a baseball bat and somebody is yelling that particular person to cease, is {that a} feud between the baseball bat-wielder and the particular person yelling on the baseball bat-wielder? I do not know if that is a feud.”

Rogen added, “I feel feud implies two folks hitting one another with baseball bats. I am, like, Ted Cruz is a fascist. He denies the truth of the election. His phrases trigger folks to die, and I am making jokes about it. Is {that a} feud? I do not know. To me, it does not look like a feud. To me, it looks as if I am mentioning the truth that he’s a horrible man whose phrases have resulted in demise.”

Rogen’s baseball bat metaphor wasn’t the one one he had up his sleeve, the actor later shared, “Should you had been taking part in baseball towards a workforce and, like, you are attempting to get quite a lot of runs and the opposite workforce is attempting to bludgeon you to demise, like, is it like surprising that you just’re not scoring as many runs as possibly try to be scoring? No, the opposite workforce is simply attempting to beat you to demise with baseball bats, .”
