NEW DELHI: Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and England left-arm speedster Harry Gurney has determined to retire from cricket following a shoulder harm.
Gurney, 34, was a part of KKR in 2019, and had picked up seven wickets in eight matches. His greatest figures of two for 25 got here towards Rajasthan Royals within the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Nottingham-born Gurney performed 10 ODIs and two T20 Internationals for England in 2014.
Gurney introduced his retirement plans on social media. “The time has arrived for me to hold up my boots. After attempting to get well from the latest harm to my shoulder I’m really dissatisfied to have to finish my taking part in profession on account of it,” he wrote.

“From the primary time I picked up a cricket ball on the age of ten, I used to be fully obsessed. Cricket has been my life for twenty-four years and has taken me on an unbelievable journey that I’ll cherish eternally. Reacting to Gurney’s announcement, KKR tweeted: “We want @harrygurney a profitable retirement life, and wish to thank him for all of the pleased reminiscences — particularly the one vs RR the place a dramatic sandstorm became a magical #IPL debut in Jaipur 2019.”

Gurney represented Nottinghamshire, Melbourne Renegades within the Huge Bash, Barbados Tridents within the Caribbean Premier League and Quetta Gladiators within the Pakistan Tremendous League.
