SHIMLA: In a heart-rending incident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district, a person was compelled to hold the physique of his mother, who died of Covid-19, on his shoulders to the cremation floor as no relative, nor the villagers or district administration provided any assist for worry of contracting the lethal virus.
The person, recognized as Veer Singh, cremated his mom, who was a former uppradhan of Bhangwar panchayat, and died alone at dwelling on Wednesday.
Distressing photos of the person from Ranital space of Kangra district strolling to the cremation floor on Thursday went viral on social media.
In an analogous incident in Hamirpur district, a Covid-19 affected person died at Bhakredi panchayat and no villager turned up for the final rites. The deceased’s son, a Covid-19 affected person himself, contacted native MLA Inderdutt Lakhanpal, who organized the final rites as per Covid-19 protocol.
The CM stated that the administration involved should be sure that the relations of Covid-19 sufferers get full assist and cooperation from the district administration in performing the final rites of their lifeless.
